Mid-Point at SkyLab Bootcamp
You'd think I'd be used to "Wicked Wednesday" by now!!! After 3-4 days without sugar and high caffeine, many of our SkyLab clients go through a mild withdrawal. Plus, they are peaking with sore muscles. This combo often creates very cranky clients.
But, per usual, they are busting through it with characteristic grace and perseverance. For me, detox is not a factor, as I gave up sugar and caffeine years ago as I prepared my body for fertility. But, due to rounds of IVF, have not been working out as much or as hard as I am now.
Really, I cannot blame it on the IVF. I could be doing lots of non-impact exercise, like hiking, swimming, using the elliptical machine, yoga, etc. Now that I'm fully back into exercise this week, I realize how much I miss it! It's such an accomplishment to get up and hike with a great group of women, or dive into the pool and lose myself in laps.
Plus, I find I'm much better able to control my stress, while still meeting writing deadlines, participating in conference calls, and even looking to add on a potentially new client.
Every time we have a SkyLab bootcamp, it reminds me just how critical it is to take the best possible care of yourself. As trite as it sounds, if you don't take care of yourself, you are no good to others. And I want to be as healthy, happy, and wholly (or holy!) as I can for my future little one(s).
